Term 3 Tech Wood

Hi My name is Hamish and Today is the last day of my term 2 Tech wood 2019, I have been making a jeep for my brother who is studying on becoming a mechanic in Australia. I In this post I will be running you thru the steps to make a wooden Jeep.

1. We had to pick a design from 8 of our own choices. Mr Grundy Selected some ideas on what would work and what won't work My 8 ideas where Doll bed for my grandma , a moving cd rack, A phone holder for my dad , A wooden Hot rod , a pinball Game , a jewelry box for mum , a ring storage for mum , a truck for dad and a slingshot.

2. we measured the length of the joint to get the right size and to match the biled that me are making for me since I am making a jeep I had to use a steel rule to get the right size. In my case I had to get 220 mm and 100 mm.

3. I got a tri square and made the gap to slot the 100 mm piece in but first I had to draw the lines and then mark how deep the slot is Mr Grundy said to make it half way so we did just that.

4. we sawed on the pencil lines and unfortunately I made it two luse but we had to do something about it so Mr Grundy said that it will be a lot less strong but it can still work so he went off and started to glue it together.

5. Mr Grundy got a wooden box looking thingy and glued it to the front of the jeep and said that that is the bonnet and with that it made my jeep stronger and a bit more heavy.

6. One the 100 mm piece of wood we cut hole in it for a front window then he glewd on the bonnet to the 100 mm piece of wood.

7. Next we added a piece on the back that I do knot know what it is for but the thing it is the but that folds down on utes and other bigger cars. Do You know what it is called tell me in the comments down below.

8. After that we added side pieces on but not before drawing the shape and cutting and then sanding it to make it nice and smooth.

9. After all of that we added seats . They don't look that comfy due to it being wood after all.

10. After all of that Mr grundy added hole in the side of the jeep for the wheels to go in then he called a wooden poll thru the holes and attached the wheels onto the polls and there you GO the jeep is complete.

I think I did really well on this project it has helped me to realise what woodwork is really before i thought it was a really hard and bruteing thing but now. I know everyone can do it when a teacher as funny and Mr Grundy.I do wish now that I did the plane that is on the wall it looks easy and fun and I want to try it wonday. If I was to improve on something it would be making the joint more tight it is cinda loose now but that is okay.

Thank You Mr Grundy For Teaching Me This Life Lesson

Evolution and Extinctions

Hi my name is Hamish and today I want to tell you about the mass Extinctions on our planet. Please remember to tell me what you think in the comments , what I've done wrong in your opinion and what I have done right. Have a happy and nice day and remember BE KIND.

Okay Guys and girls to start off let's talk about the Permian .
In my opinion I think the Extinction of the Permian was due to massive volcano eruptions and lava lakes forming from the volcano, of course the lava is not there anymore but you can still see the reminisce of the pits that they were in or that they created. Now in spite of the holes in the ground I also think that the pollen from the trees would have preserved the reasoning behind the mass Extinction of dinosaurs. I think that there would not have been a very high demand for large sea creatures in the rivers and lakes at most I think that there would only have been ancient ancestors of the modern crocodile.

My teacher has asked me to talk about a critically endangered animal of my choice and I have chosen
the saola commonly dubbed as the asian unicorn it is found in the jungles of asia it has only been photographed 3 times in the wild it is one of the most rarest large mammals in the world due to this it is in high demand to see one. Both male and female Saola, have two parallel long, straight, pointed horns that have been measured to reach up to an amazing 20 inches (50 cm), twice the size of their head. Their silky, short fur is a dark chestnut brown colour apart from the distinctive beautiful white markings above their eyes, like an eyebrow, beside the nose and along the jawline. A lighter, cream colouring is also found just above the hooves and on the chest. And they live about 45 years

They are natrily rare and humans are not doing it any justice.

The Life Process Of Bacteria!

Hi Guys Its Me Hamish and I'm Back To Show you The Life Processes of Bacteria and all The other waky and funky things that come with It! So sit back relax and get your reading glasses Cos I'm going to show you the world of Bacteria!

Every 20 seconds a New piece of Bacteria forms In the world. And to do so it needs food like any other thing does to grow, these combined with oxygen , carbon dioxide and water. When these things run out the Bacteria Will start to die out that is why when you see cold, dark and damp places there is normally a decent amount of Bacteria like moss or other types.

Bacteria is also a living organism and is apart of  MRS GREN or the seven life processes.
Bacteria display a wide diversity of shapes and sizes called morphologies.Bacteria cells are about one tenth the size of eukaryotic cells and are typically 0.5-5.0 Micrometers in length. But a few species you can see with the unaided eye for exemple, Thiomargarita  namibiensis is up to half a millimeter in length.

Many Bacteria cells exist as single cells but some like Streptococcus might form chains or other things like a bunch of grapes LOL Some even for bodys that can go for 500 micrometers long and containing about 100,000 cells. In these body each piece of Bacteria has a certain job for example some might migrate to the fruity top to differentiate into a specialised dormant  state called a myxospore.
Bacteria often attached to surface and form dense aggregation called biofilms and larger formations are called microbial mats.
